I assume it does depend on your age. If you are over 18 then you should be able to get a prescription from your doctor or you can visit the health department. No, you can not purchase them in any store such as CVS or Walgreens. You must have a prescription and you must take it within 72 hours of having unprotected sex.
Call your local Planned Parenthood office and tell them you want emergency contraception. They should be able to get you in the same day you call.
