What does it mean when they say how long is your cycle?? then they give you a number starting from 22 days?

is it the amount of days when you stop your period, before you start your next period?? how many days in between?? or do you count from your first day of your period until you start the other one?? not sure??What does it mean when they say how long is your cycle?? then they give you a number starting from 22 days?
The cycle is "typically" 28 days. However, some women have shorter or longer cycles. The cycle begins at the first day of the period and then ends when you start again. The cycle involves shedding the lining of the uterus to prepare for a fertilized egg- ovulation typically occurs mid-cycle 10-14th day. If an egg is not fertilized, then the uterus sheds it's lining (menses). Right after menses, the uterine lining once again begins to thicken to prepare for a potential fert. egg. If an egg is fert., it will embed itself into the thick lining and sends a chemical message to the brain "don't have a period, you're pregnant". The lining provides the egg with a cushiony place to grow- as well as nourishment and exchange of oxygen, waste , between mother and baby. Hope this helped.
The cycle normally indicates the first day of your period to the day before the first day of your next period. normally it falls anywhere between 21- 35 days. if you have just begun, you might want to keep a record just so you know. often when you go to the women's clinic they ALways ask..
from day 1 to day 1..
