What do you do when you have a period that is lasting for 3 weeks?
are u taking any birth control pills or the shot? my friend gets the shot, and she said shes had periods for weeks bcuz of it. she does have a messed up thyroid though, and that has something to do with it. i took a one-time dose of levonorgestral and it threw my cycle off for a little over a month and a half but then went back to normal. i had periods that never fully started and lasted for a week, then slowed to a stop, then started again...it was frustrating n confusing.
something happened and messed with your hormones, id see a doctor if it is a lot of blood and a strong red the whole time. if it is slow, and not really a lot of blood its probably no big deal. best bet though is to see ur doctor. i think its one of the symptoms of cysts, but im really not too sue on that one
See a Doctor
See your gynecologist to see what might be happening. Only they can tell you why and do an exam.
Period itself cannot last that long. What you have is bleeding.
First, don't take any blood thinning drugs if you are taking any (Ibuprofen and Aspirin). And see a doctor. This is really wrong.
1st you need to seek a doc.
you probably have thicken of the lining in your uterus, meaning you have build up and it is shedding. if this is the case, you would probably need a sonogram to check this. then you may be put on some meds to thin it back out. if it is too thick, then the doc will probably do a d&c. do you have spontaines bleeding, whenever, wherever??
or it could be a tumor or cyst. this is something that a doc needs to check out as it could be a number of things. too much bleeding can cause annemic.
